Being a single mom can be rewarding and stressful. It may seem as if everything is on your shoulders. In some ways, this may be true. However, you don't have to handle everything alone! It is important that single moms build a good support system. While of course, you are the primary caregiver to your child, and you are the main supporter of your family, you should have others around you who can help out at times. This may include friends, co-workers, and family members.

There are actually several different areas that single moms can look for assistance, and some of these can be found online. Look for support groups in your community. If you aren't sure where to begin, you can ask your doctor's office or pediatrician for the names of area groups that are made up of single moms. You can also contact the local YMCA and your city's Chamber of Commerce. Don't forget to check the yellow pages of your local phone book, too. For online resources, check out the following:

I would like to study again as all my children are grown up. I only have one left at home he is 18 and has Autism, so I don't get to much time to myself. Though what time I do get I would like to do something to get me back into work.I enjoy writing and illustrating my own childrens books and have written 37 stories with no luck in selling. I need to go back to studying and have found two colleges. One study at home course. Please can someone ring me so I can have a word with them about going back to college and a grant . I was wondering if there are programs out that that can help single moms network to get things accomplished. For example, my two oldest boys, ages 17 & 18, need cars. I am having trouble: 1) finding cars they can afford (less than $1000); and 2) finding someone who can go with me to look at the cars with more knowledge than I have. I'm interested in setting up a networking site because this kind of stuff happens so much to us!

Ideas?
