1. Visit the Absolute Poker Home Page.
2. Download the free AbsolutePoker poker client. This software is free to download. On the Absolute Poker home page click on "Download". On the pop-up screen choose "Save File". Once the download is complete, double-click the file to run installation. Another pop-up window will appear -- choose the option which reads "start install". Once the software has been properly installed you will receive the following message:
   
   Absolute Poker has been successfully installed and for your convenience,
   a shortcut has been saved to your desktop.
   Do you want to register and begin playing now?
3. Choose "Yes". The previous message will leave you with two choices; yes or no. If you want to register and start playing poker immediately, choose yes. The registration process is quick and easy. They will ask you to enter some information, which is needed to create the account. And no worries, they won't get too personal. Absolute Poker will not ask for a social security number, credit card, bank account number or any other sensitive information. 4. Fill in the registration form. You will be asked to provide the following information:
   
   • Player name. This will be your nickname which will be visible to all players while you are seated at any Absolute Poker table. Choose your player name carefully, as Absolute Poker will not allow you to change your nickname in the future. Offensive names are strictly prohibited. You may initially get away with a name containing vulgar or otherwise inappropriate words. You will not be able to play poker if you do not first validate your email address. Once you've completed the registration form you will receive the following message: "Your account has been created and an email validation code has been sent to the address on file...." You will not be able to access your new Absolute Poker account until you retrieve that code and enter it as they request.
   • Many people are uncomfortable associating their primary e-mail address with an on-line poker account, and I can't blame you if you are. Especially if you are on a shared computer, as I'm sure you don't need your wife/husband or children/parents to know how much money you have won or lost until you are ready to break the news.
   • Fortunately you won't have to! You can keep your poker experiences private when you create a new safe and secure e-mail account for free with a provider such as yahoo, google, or MSN.
   • Select a security question. This will be used to validate your identity if you forget your user name and/or password. You will be given a list of questions to choose from such as: your mothers maiden name, your first pets name, your childhood hero, etc. To protect your account I'd recommend you answer your question falsely. This will limit the ability for a thief to gain access to your account.
